The Grounds
Glamorous camping a.k.a. "glamping" must be done in the perfect space or it turns right back into the camping trip you never wanted. During our stay in Portland, we took a family day trip to The Vintage Trailor Resort located at The Willamette Wine Country RV Park. We stayed in a vintage airstream with top-notch amenities and decorations to match. The park offers a breathtaking view of the neighboring vineyards, and with a toddler, I loved having a pool, hot tub and outdoor lawn games to enjoy. The Willamette Valley has become one of the nation’s top wine producing regions. With more than 300 wineries in the area, the region has established itself as one of the most premier locations for producing Pinot Noir.
Wine Tasting
Stoller Family Estate was the perfect spot to wine taste with our two year old. They have a huge backyard space and we received a free tasting from our resort. The tire swing is epic and not just fun to look at; we put our swingin' shoes on and it felt like we had our own private vineyard for just a few moments in time.
Glamping Time
After wine tasting and pool time, we were definitely ready for some grub. We took a walk over to the local shop on property and picked up some brats and snacks. We took full advantage of "The Little Campfire Kit" complete with a fire pit, local Pinot Noir, and a s'mores kit from Nineteen27. We befriended our neighbors and had such a great time as a family ... What a night to remember!
Morning Joe
The morning after is always my favorite part. We started the morning out on our patio with gourmet pour-over coffee from Caravan Coffee and headed to The Block House Cafe for breakfast. The Block House Café is a historic landmark dating back to 1886. Although recently renovated, the cafe is located in what once was the First Baptist Church of Dayton, Oregon. The park across the street led us to one last adventure before heading back downtown.
